John F. Gerress is an accomplished structural engineer, with extensive petroleum industry experience, including:

John developed and applied his professional expertise at Lehigh Structural Steel Co., the Engineering Department of Sunoco, Inc., and as an independent consulting engineer. As a design supervisor, he has established design criteria for major projects, supervised designers and drafters, sealed drawings as responsible engineer, visited job sites to correct, solve, or consult on problems, visited fabricators' shops to assess capabilities, and prepared cost estimates. Selected projects:

• Distillation Tower foundation Designed pile foundation for 15' x 120' debutanizer tower and attendant exchangers.
  
  
• Refinery plant support structure Designed the four level 50' x 115' steel structure for a new lube and wax plant, including a 40' high overhead crane.
  
  
• Electrostatic Precipitator support structure Designed a new structure above existing breeching. Plan area of the structure was 40' x 230', at 60' above grade. Designed the test port probe platform at the 200' level of the stack, and access elevator stabilizing system.
  
  
• Foundation Inspections Performed foundation inspections for high-rise signs at 270 sites throughout the eastern U.S.
  
  
• Aircraft Hangar revamp Performed truss analysis and building analysis for revamp of 5 hangars to accommodate larger aircraft.
