George joined the Central Engineering Department of Sunoco, Inc., following engineering positions
with Rohm & Haas Company, New York Shipbuilding Corporation, and Westinghouse Steam Turbine Division.

George is past chairman of Sunoco's Mechanical Standards Committee, and past chairman of the API Subcommittee on Mechanical Equipment. His accomplishments on the API Subcommittee (prior to being named Subcommittee Chairman in 1993) include serving as task force chairman for API Standards 611 (General Purpose Steam Turbines), 613 (Special-Purpose Gears), 618 (Reciprocating Compressors), and 672 (Centrifugal Plant & Instrument Air Compressors). George has extensive industry contacts with manufacturers and suppliers of new rotating equipment, as well as counterparts in other oil and chemical companies. George holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and is a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. |
