| RICHARD P. BROOKMAN, PE, CEA |
Richard P. Brookman has over 30 years technical and business experience in
the specialty chemical, petrochemical, chemical process equipment, and energy management areas. Rich has been responsible
for development of air pollution control equipment including tray, packed, grid and spray tower scrubbers, adsorbers,
cyclones, and filtration systems. He has engineered processes for remediation of volatile organic compounds and developed
materials for high efficiency coalescing filtration. Rich is a patent holder, has instructed in chemical plant hazards
evaluation at The Center for Professional Advancement, he has authored numerous articles on chemical engineering,
safety and environmental subjects, and contributed to two books in chemical separations, semiconductor manufacturing
safety and air pollution control. Sample activities include:
|
- Development of UV method for enhanced scrubbing of volatile organic compounds
- Development of novel hydroentangled perfluoropolymer mist eliminator
- Lead teams for installations of ultra high purity piping systems for semiconductor manufacturing
- Conduct training in process plant hazards evaluation and mitigation
- Development of process instrument for simultaneous quantification of oxygen and moisture in high purity
welding gases
- Lead industry group in establishing reactive stability of hydride and group VI-A gases
- Process design for alternative (biodiesel) fuel synthesis; biodiesel plant design
- Conducted Energy Star certifications documenting energy efficiency measures
- Developed programs for energy usage and demand analysis; quantification of energy cost reduction
- Conducted energy supply agreement negotiations on behalf of large electric energy users
- Investigations into public funding availability for energy reduction measures

An honors chemical engineering graduate of New York University, he has
continued postgraduate studies in chemical engineering, operations research and finance at Stevens Institute of
Technology. He has done additional study in the areas of vacuum technology, surface analysis, metrology, energy
auditing and project management.
He is a licensed professional engineer in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maine, a certified energy auditor,
and is a member of The American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Association of Energy Engineers. Rich
holds a commercial pilots’ license with an instrument rating.
